How it all began...
When Caroline Smith, a silversmith, and Sylvia Kus, a knitwear designer, met at the Pantiles Craft Market in Royal Tunbridge Wells, something clicked. They were both passionate about creating beautiful, timeless pieces—and about giving local artisans a space to shine.
What began as a six-week pop-up shop in Ely Court, Royal Victoria Place, quickly became something more. Customers fell in love with the carefully curated displays of handcrafted jewellery, knitwear, ceramics, glassware, and gifts. Artists saw an opportunity to share their work with a wider audience. And Caroline and Sylvia saw the chance to build a creative community that felt welcoming, joyful, and full of heart.
The Silver Sheep is now a permanent fixture—a true maker’s haven. It’s a place where you can discover something unexpected, something made with soul. Both Caroline and Sylvia can often be found working in the shop, either chatting with customers or quietly crafting their latest designs. It’s not unusual to catch them knitting behind the counter or shaping silver at the bench. If you’re looking for something bespoke, they’re always happy to create a custom piece just for you.
